Refrigerant Reclaim Cylinders
A-Gas offer both 10 and 45 kg cylinders for the sole purpose to returning used or reclaimed refrigerant and therefore Normal Traffic cylinders must not be used for transporting used material. A non-return valve is fitted to prevent the use of normal cylinders for reclaim; removal of this device will incur a charge.
We only offer this service to customers who purchase Refrigerants from us and who are registered for F-Gas with one of the three governing bodies - Refcom, Bureau Veritas or Quidos.
With regards to company F-Gas certification, the Environmental Services Agency are taking this matter very seriously and will prosecute any company or individual that does not comply with government rules and regulations.
When refrigerant is removed from a system it becomes chemical waste and is covered by that legislation. We can only offer reclaim cylinders to customers that are able to collect from our branches or fall within our normal van delivery network. This is because most carriers will not handle chemical waste.
The cylinder must be returned with a completed hazardous waste consignment note. Waste refrigerant can only be transported in the appropriate cylinder and with the waste consignment note filled in correctly.
